CIPM stresses importance of human capital development on nation building

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), has stressed the importance of skill acquisition for the attainment of national development.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), has stressed the importance of skill acquisition for the attainment of national development.

Vice President of CIPM, Olawale Adediran, who represented the President of the body during the visit of the CIPM management to some stakeholders in Oyo State, said the Institute contributes to sustainable national development through constant promotion of excellence in the acquisition and application of knowledge and skill by practitioners’ continuous innovation.

Adediran, who was flanked by Dr. Charles Ugwu; and the Registrar/CEO of the CIPM, Mrs. Ajibola Ponnle, also told the management of the University of Ibadan (UI), students and the Chairman, Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Chief Joseph Oladele, that the body has continued to regulate the practice of human resource management in Nigeria over the past five decades.

Also, the Registrar, Mrs Ponnle, stressed that in the last 50 years, the institute has contributed to the development of the Nigerian nation through its members, who are key decision makers spread across diverse sectors.

She harped on professionalism in human resources management and promised to partner with the state government on human capital development.

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, is expected to lead other African Business leaders and captains of industries to the 50th anniversary celebration of the institute in Abuja.
