CITN gets new executive

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) has elected a new leadership to run its affairs for the next one year as the Olateju Somorin administration ended its two-year tenure.

CITN’s Head of Corporate Services, Gbolahan Bilewu who confirmed the development said the new leadership will be headed by Dr. Cyril Ikemefuna Nwobodo Ede as President and Chairman of Council.

Also, Gladys Olajumoke Simplice and Adesina Isaac Adedayo emerged Vice President and Deputy Vice President respectively at its 13th annual general meeting (AGM).

Ede holds a Certificate in Financial Journalism from Nigeria Institute of Journalism, a Certificate in Tax Administration from ASCON, a Diploma in Law from University of Lagos, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from University of Calabar.

He also has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and another MBA in Banking & Finance from Imo State University, Owerri, among other qualifications.

However, Olajumoke has a B.sc (Economics) and started her career with A.B. Alabi and Co and Alabi Bakoh Ekundare (Chartered Accountants) and later Transcontinental Fisheries Limited in Lagos.

She left the Company in August 1982 for the Federal Inland Revenue Department, now Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and retired from after 27 years of service’ having worked at the International Tax Division for 14 years before moving to other units.

Adedayo qualified as a Chartered Accountant in November 1992 and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and CITN; an Associate of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN) and a Certified Fraud Examiner, among others.
