Foundation kicks-off petty-trading empowerment scheme
The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation has introduced a petty trading loan and empowerment scheme in Abia state.The scheme comprises financial loans and vehicles advancement.
While announcing the programme at his Igbere country home in Bende LGA of Abia state in the presence of the APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegu, Organizing Secretary, Senator Osita Izunaso, Vice Chairman South East, Emma Eneukwu, Abia state Chairman Hon Donatus Nwankpa among others, the founder/facilitator of the scheme, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu said that the petty-trading loan will be interest free and repayable gradually in accordance with World Bank rule.
He however said that the selected beneficiaries who ideally would be APC card-carrying members, must present sureties chosen from their church Ministers, lawyers and community leaders.
Kalu indicated that the Executive Secretary of the Foundation, Rev Mrs Jemima Kalu will soon undertake tour of the state political Wards to sensitize the grassroots on the scheme.
First Seven beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme selected from seven LGAs were given Sienna Buses with all the beneficiaries of the scheme charged to be good APC Ambassadors.
