Group empowers youths 

Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) has empowered five youths with two hair dressing dryers, two sewing machines and cooking pots with catering sets, as starters pack to beneficiaries on skills acquisition vocational training initiative organised by the youth body of Isoko nation.


Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) has empowered five youths with two hair dressing dryers, two sewing machines and cooking pots with catering sets, as starters pack to beneficiaries on skills acquisition vocational training initiative organised by the youth body of Isoko nation.

The empowerment programme which was held at Anglican Grammar School playground, Ozoro, Isoko North local government of Delta State, also enlisted 50 Isoko youths selected from Isoko North and South to undergo the state government skills acquisition training programme through the Delta state Skills Acquisition Board.

Speaking during the empowerment programme, the Isoko youth President, Ovie Umuakpo said that the programme is to key into the philosophy of the state government to create jobs and make Delta youths entrepreneurs and employers of labour.

According to Umuakpo, part of the money received monthly will be used to empower our youths.On his part, the Political adviser to the Delta State Governor, Festus Ochunogor who represented Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, commended Chief Iduh Amadhe for his leadership strides in Isoko development union and for good leadership of the Youths of Isoko nation adding that, it will create access to all those that have been trained for empowerment.

Also speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Chief Iduh Amadhe, president general Isoko development union, commended the Delta state governor for recognising Isoko National Youth Assembly as the only youth body in Isoko nation.

Earlier, the directorate of the Youth Empowerment Programme, Isaiah Ogunye noted that the youth empowerment programme is aimed at curbing youth restiveness among Youths of Isoko nation so as to be employers of labour and also earn a living for themselves in future.
