Group to train 440 tricycle repairers in Kano

Wandel Int’Ltd., a subsidiary of Simba Group, is planning to train 560 vulcanisers and 440 tricycle repairers in Kano State.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, flagged off the 12-day training programme.

Wandel International is the sole distributor of TVS Motors (India), and the leading company in the three-wheeler industry in Nigeria.

According to a statement by Business Head, Simba Group, Mr. Manish Rohtagi, the programme would “focus on training of 560 vulcanisers and 440 tricycle technicians from all local councils in Kano.”

He said that Prof Yemi Osinbajo who acknowledged the concept during the governor’s speech noted that they were looking forward for the partnership.

He said that company’s head of northern region, Mr. Sunil Korde, took the participants through basic trouble- shooting, repair and maintenance, adding that emphasis was laid on the quality of TVS Tricycle known as TVS King DLX+ during the training session conducted.

“We are also looking forward to establishing a training school in Kano in collaboration with State Government whose prime focus will be on training for tricycle and motorcycle repairers. Later on, the other products such as power back-up solutions, solar solutions , agricultural solutions including tractors / irrigation techniques would also be added up.”
