An advert agency, Intaxiads, has launched a unique taxi interior advertising to create edge over close competitors in Nigeria. The move, is to enable businesses, organisations and individuals take their brands to commuters all over the country and receive a boost in sales.

It involves putting digital screens on headrests in taxi with ad messages viewed by passengers in those vehicles.Speaking at the launch held recently in Lagos, Managing Director of the company, Amina Eniola Ayeni said Intaxiads is an advertising agency that provides services for companies looking to employ taxi-marketing strategy and get maximum exposure in the process.

Noting that Nigeria is a country where creativity and innovation evolves but lacked absolute market strategy to push them, Ayeni said she decided to create a business model that is targeted at commuters who are middle and high income earners to bring a new dimension to advertising in the country. Ayeni assured that with the platform, ads would generate more impression and provide clients ability to also monitor their campaign. She explained that adverts on the platform would roll 60 times per hour in moving vehicles and reach target audience more quickly.

She said with 61.6 per cent of the population unemployed, the company is poised to provide taxi drivers opportunities to earn extra income to add to their daily earning.
With 5, 000 taxi spread over Lagos state, Ayeni said these vehicles would also help clients carry their brand messages to other parts of the country as they also ply the inter state routes. According to her, the drivers in the scheme would also serve as brand ambassadors and would be trained to engage passengers and provide basic information such as location, contact and phones numbers on each ad on the platform.

She however assured that the platform is open to other Nigerians who wish to join after proper vetting and security checks. The event also witnessed the signing of agreements between the company and Moving Train Pilots Association (MOTPA), a transport solution association, to use their vehicles for the scheme.

Speaking on the partnership, President of MOTPA, Timothy Adelaja said the association has come to bring a new phase to transportation in Lagos and Nigeria at large adding that they plan to redefine transport solution by enabling other taxi companies to come on board and join the platform.

Noting that the association comprise mostly of car owners, he said that they are working on a structure that would allow their drivers have less working hours while earning more money and have their own cars to drive.Adelaja also stated that they have reached an agreement with a developer to allow members acquire landed properties with their earning with two years.

He added that they are currently working on a plan to secure loan to buy new cars for members with provision for easy payment to boost their rank and take care of their welfare. The president also revealed plans to increase close to 10, 000 drivers on the Intaxiads platform.
