jobbermanTo help job applicants in Nigeria to get more interview opportunities and possibly secure jobs, the country’s foremost recruitment website Jobberman has launched a free CV evaluation.

This move was informed by the company’s realization that a major reason why many young people are not gainfully employed is their inability to effectively communicate their skills, experiences and uniqueness through their CVs”, according to a statement.

BintaAbass-Olisa,Jobberman’s Product Manager (CV services) said: “Typically, the first meeting between a candidate and a potential employer takes place in form of CVs. Hence, it is important that job applicants effectively communicate their skills and suitability for the job, as failure to impress the potential employer could greatly limit their chances of getting invited for interviews.”

Jobberman, therefore, decided to address this critical bit in the job search process by offering Nigerians free CV assessments. People were required to upload their CVs on an assigned portalafter which they were sent detailed reports and recommendations on how to improve the CV,” the statement said.

Commenting on the success of the campaign, the company’s CEO, Ayodeji Adewunmi, said, “We have recorded some degree of success. In six months, We have evaluated over 137,000 CVs and have received quite a number of success stories ranging from getting more job invites to landing jobs. There is still a lot to be done and we are calling on other socially responsible organizations to partner with us in this drive.”

The statement added: “Jobberman is also currently working with some government agencies to help candidates better define and assess their skills as part of government’s skills development initiative. Nigerians willing to get free CV assessments can do that by uploading their CVs on jobberman’s website.“Jobberman is Nigeria’s No.1 recruitment website with two million jobseekers and 45,000 employers nationwide.
