KEDC sacks 140 workers for alleged certificate fraud

The Kaduna Electricity Distributions Company (KEDC) has sacked 140 staffers for indulging in alleged academic qualifications racketeering.

The Head of Corporate Communication of KEDC, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, said in Kaduna that efforts at fishing out ‘bad eggs’ within the organization would be intensified.

Abdullahi added: “About one hundred and forty (140) workers of Kaduna Electricity Distributions Company were last week laid-off for academic qualifications’ racketeering”.”

Further quoting the Head, Human Resources of the Company, Mrs. Khadijat Kabir, he explained that the affected workers committed the, “offences ranging from presenting fake results, tampering with their grades to non-completion of approved courses.

“The exercise was painstakingly carried-out by a consultant engaged by the Company to ensure that all forms of examination frauds by any employee of the Company is fished out”.

According to Abdullahi, “Kaduna Electric is a responsible corporate brand, and shall leave no stone unturned to ensure that it workforce is only made up of people with integrity”.
