N-power deploys 11,401 beneficiaries in Abia

About 11,401 beneficiaries of N-Power programme have been deployed to their places of primary assignments in the education, agriculture and health sectors.The Abia State focal person for N-Power and Social Investment Programme , who is also the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Development, Mr Chinenye Nwaogu, made this known to The Guardian in Umuahia, the state capital.

He said the 11,401 beneficiaries were selected in two batches from the numerous applicants, “after meticulous selection process and verification by the N- Power office located in the office of the Vice President.”

According to Nwaogu, some of the applicants that reported for the verification exercise were however disqualified for presenting fake certificates, adding that each of the selected and deployed beneficiaries are entitled to N30,000 monthly stipend.He also disclosed that the beneficiaries were drawn from across the state’s three senatorial zones comprising 17 Local government areas.

“Of the 1517 beneficiaries from Abia North Senatorial zone, 835 were posted to work under N-Tech, 433 under N-Agro 149 under N-Health. “In Abia Central zone that had 2,933 beneficiaries, 1612 were posted to N-Tech, 1033 to N-Agro and 288 to under N-Health,” he stated.Similarly, he said the Abia south senatorial zone had the largest number of 2,914 beneficiaries, and were posted to work at various MDAs and parastatals of the state. 

1688 were posted under N-Tech, 928 under N-Agro, and 298 posted to work under N-Health indicating that the posting of the N-Build beneficiaries will commence soon.
He charged the beneficiaries to be dedicated and committed to their duties and thus is good Ambassadors of N-Power programme by exhibiting good character in their service delivery so as to justify the import of the N-Power Programme.

Nwaogu commended the governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for his support for all the social investment programmes in Abia state that enabled Abia State to be in the lead in the country

He added: “It is because of the Governor’s strategic and constructive engagement with the Federal Government that has seen Abia benefiting massively from a lot of federal intervention programmes.”

He similarly appreciated the Office of the Vice President for the initiative and for always identifying with the ingenuity of Abia youths through several supportive social investment programmes like N-Power stressing that the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo has shown interest through his supportive activities to the Governor and Abia State.
