Director General of National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Nasir Mohammed Ladan has urged beneficiaries of its Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (NOAS) to be diligent and dedicated to enable them succeed in the programme.

Ladan, who spoke at beginning of training of 100 trainees under the NDE programme, stressed that nobody succeeds in any venture except he has a passion for it.

He explained that the scheme was borne out of the desire to ensure that unemployed youths and women were exposed to the benefits of self-reliance through acquisition of demand driven skills.

Ladan assured that the successful ones would be resettled at the end of the training but cautioned that those who absent themselves from the training would be replaced.

Speaking at the event, the Anambra State co-coordinator of NAOS, Iroegbu Eke, said the aim of the scheme was to promote employment opportunities and tackle joblessness in the state and beyond.
