Nestoil Limited has been awarded with International Standard Organisation (ISO) 9001:2008 certification for Quality Management System (QMS) by a global certification body, DQS Holding.

The certification is coming after a detailed evaluation of the company’s operational processes and standards, which is a valid testament to Nestoil’s capacity to deliver quality services that conform to customers’ needs and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

With this certification, Nestoil Limited has affirmed its positioning as Nigeria’s foremost Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) service company.

As the indigenous leader in pipeline construction, the certification serves as a tacit endorsement of indigenous expertise, which has been supporting the operations of International Oil Companies (IOCs) operating in Nigeria since the activation of the Local Content Act.

In his remarks, Group Chief Operating Officer, (GCOO), Dr. Chukwueloka Umeh described the certification as an encouraging achievement that will help Nestoil and its sister companies, remain true to professionalism and operational integrity which are the ideals of the group.

ISO 9001:2008 is a quality standard with generic requirements that are applicable to organisations of different types, sizes and service/product orientations. Where any of its compliance requirements becomes inapplicable owing to the nature of an organisation, its products or services, exclusion can be considered.

However, where exclusions are granted, claims of conformity to ISO 9001:2008 are not acceptable, unless the exclusions are limited to requirements within clause 7, and such exclusions do not affect the organization’s ability, or responsibility, to provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Specifically, the ISO 9001:2008 standard helps organizations develop a Quality Management System (QMS) that ensures they meet customers’ quality requirements while continually improving their operational processes. Therefore, organizations with ISO 9001:2008 certification have completely complied with the necessary requirements and demonstrated consistent ability to provide products that meet customer requirements as well as enhance satisfaction through effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system.
