The Professional Excellence Foundation of Nigeria (PEFON) has said it would drive efficiency among Nigerian youths as it admits new members.

Founder of PEFON, Dr. Dipo Bailey, gave the assurance during the induction and investiture ceremony in Lagos, saying the foundation was committed to helping youths become professionally qualified, as this would increase their employment chances.

“We already have a committee in place to help the youths in that regard and we are planning to have a conference for professionals later in the year,” he revealed.

He said that the objectives of PEFON are to identify Nigerian professionals at home and abroad who may wish to be part of the foundation and recognise those who have excelled in their chosen professions.

“The foundation will also recognise individuals, who though do not possess professional qualifications, have established conglomerates that have employed a large number of professionals,” he added.

He also said that PEFON plans to raise scholarship fund to assist young Nigerians to study and become professionally qualified.

Wherever possible, he said, it plans to assist professionals to be employed and to seek ways of developing the country’s future.

Bailey stated that the professionals would contribute immensely in fostering the growth and development of the country.

Some of the new inductees at the event are Emmanuel Uwuanyanwu, an investor with business empire in different sectors in Nigeria and overseas; Ike Ugwu, Chief Executive Officer of Pharmacare Support Group; Olasheni Ibiwoye, a senior partner with Messrs.’ Bayo & Co, a law firm and Ismail Agaka, General Manager, Social Security Development Department, among others.
