“In this connection, our Association, PENGASSAN will stand up to be counted as always, by ensuring we continue to contribute our individual and collective quotas in whatever ways we can to promote national development, particularly those affecting our industry,” he said.

In his remarks, the acting Managing Director of Addax Petroleum, Yonghong Chen said the nation is currently undergoing a serious change management challenge.

Meanwhile, Comrade Chris Ogiemwonyi has been elected as chairman of Addax Petroleum branch of PENGASSAN for the next three years.
Delegates unanimously chose Ogiemwonyi, who emerged unopposed, as the chairman through consensus during the branch’s 5th Triennial Delegates Conference in Lagos.

“Hence we require openness and transparency to build trust and confidence in one another. Management should endeavour to take the union along in making business decisions that will impact on the employees’ welfare. As unionists, the Branch Executive Council should also sacrifice their individual interest for the corporate interest.

“For the incoming leaders, the work may appear tedious and the road ahead may appear long and hard but I am sure you  are amply endowed with all the key ingredients of success; and we pray that the Almighty Lord will grant them the zeal to serve for the betterment of the branch, our members, the company, the industry and the Association as a whole,” he said.
