SSANU new exco assures members of welfare

The University of Ilorin chapter of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has reiterated its commitment to improving the welfare of its members and the association.

The newly elected Chairman of the Association, Akanbi Mohammed Jimoh gave the assurance in his acceptance speech shortly after the election and swearing in of the new elected officers.

The University of Ilorin chapter of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has reiterated its commitment to improving the welfare of its members and the association.

The newly elected Chairman of the Association, Akanbi Mohammed Jimoh gave the assurance in his acceptance speech shortly after the election and swearing in of the new elected officers.

Akanbi who emerged chairman in a keenly contested election with three other contestants, urged all the parties involved in the election to shun partisan politics and be ready to work with his administration for which he promised to operate an open door policy.

In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Alabi Timothy, the newly elected officers include Oyedepo Oluwamayowa Joseph (Vice-Chairman); Hussain Abdullateef Dasola (Secretary); Saheed Tunde Mohammed (Assistant Secretary); Olaniyan Abdulganiyu (Treasurer); and Oyedepo Sunday Olaitan (Financial Secretary).

Others are Alabi Oluwasegun Timothy (Public Relations Officer); Akande Isaac Okunlola (Trustee); Adetona Olusola (Ex-Officio); and AdiHajarat Azumi (Women Leader).

The associations’s National Vice-President and Chairman of its Western Zone, Alfred Jimoh who lauded Unilorin SSANU members before, during and after the election appealed to winners to be magnanimous in victory as only SSANU contested the election.High point of the event was the presentation of Certificates of Return to the officers by the Chairman, Electoral Committee, Joseph Olafare and Jimoh.
