SystemSpecs boss, Obaro, wants youths to embrace tech training
He stressed that they should not be deterred by challenges, which in the end leads to bigger ideas that proffer solutions to issues affecting the economy.
He however urged the government to create an enabling environment with good broadband that facilitates connectivity and improvement in the Internet space.
Speaking during the 2018 Lagos Business School (LBS) BGS debate and award ceremony on “Agriculture or digital transformation: Which is better catalyst for Nigeria’s economic development”, Obaro admitted that the country is on its way in the growing technology trend.
“We have recorded notable improvements in technology over the years, but there should be more focus on increasing Internet usage.
For young tech experts to make impact, they need a resilient spirit because ideas rule the world.
Innovations open doors to more challenges that can help generate ideas as improvement on previous innovations,” he said.
Obaro added that implementation of digital transformation requires leadership and a holistic approach towards development, which should prevail over de facto gaps between reality and perception.
Noting that digital transformation is a journey every facet of the economy must embark on for positive output, he said it remains the catalyst for economic development and should be considered.
“If you don’t start the digital transformation journey, don’t assume other people will not. Other countries will do it anyway and where does that place Nigeria?
The question now should be how do we go about it. We just have to set off to position the economy in the light it should be,” he added.
On the impact of FINTECHs on the economy, Obaro said the platform has affected every industry from with banking, insurance, e-commerce and agriculture.
