UBA, Chapel Hill Denham, others bag Nigeria CFO awards

United Bank for Africa (UBA), Chapel Hill Denham and 10 others received various awards at the 2015 Nigeria CFO Awards.
 
The yearly award, which is the first of its kind in Nigeria, acknowledges not only Chief Financial Officers and their teams, but also the firms that provided the needed support, services and technologies that contributed to the firms’ success.
 
Specifically, UBA won Finance Team of the Year while its chief finance officer, Ugo Nwaghodoh emerged CFO of the year banking.
   
The Chief Finance 0fficer of Chapel Hill Denham, Bidemi Oni emerged CFO of the year in investment banking categories. Chapel Hill Denham was named the investment bank of the year, while its Chief Executive Officer, Bolaji Balogun received industry personality of the year award.
 
The award team also named Mrs. Rashidat Adebisi of AxaMansard Group Plc as Insurance CFO of the year, Femi Adeyemo of Oando won Oil & Gas CFO of the year, Abhulime Ehiagwina of HTN emerged IT & Telecom CFO of the year, and while Richard Turner of Jagal Group emerged Conglomerate CFO of the year. b
   
First Bank Plc emerged Business Bank of the Year, GT Bank won Best Bank Provider of Cash Management Services, Stanbic IBTC emerged Best Firm in Financial Advisory, Grofin Nigeria won Special Recognition for SMEs Support,  Olatunde Olanipekun of Fidson Healthcare named Pharmaceutical CFO of the Year award and  Muyiwa Adeseyoju of DHL won Logistic /Services CFO of the Year.
 
Speaking at the event, the Publisher of InstinctBusiness and convener of the Award, Akin Naphtal said for the very first time in Nigeria, financial executives from different sectors in the country were honoured at the maiden edition of Nigeria CFO Awards.
 
He stated that the Nigeria CFO Awards is a yearly event recognizing the accomplishments of financial executives and organization for their financial leadership and contributions to their companies’ growth. 
 
“It is a unique platform to lift the veil on exceptional roles played by financial experts toward sustaining their organisational growth.
 
“This is the first time this is happening in Nigeria. Nigeria’s financial sector has undergone significant changes in recent years. Executives have had to step up their ante which has led to the transformation we are seeing right now. Innovative products and services are abounded and customers are smiling. It is with this backdrop, that we set up the Nigeria CFO Awards.
 
“It is a project that will look at those executives that have performed extraordinarily well and deserve to be honoured. Indeed, the importance of the finance Industry cannot be overemphasized, considering the fact that it is the sector that drives many other sectors,” he added.
