A book to promote the adoption of digital skills in building a stronger economy would be launched in Abuja on August 24.

The book, which seeks innovative technology solutions is titled Digital Transformation: Evolving a Digitally Enabled Nigerian Public Service.

The author, Mr. Jacob Edo said it was written to enlighten readers, based on his knowledge and experience in technology ABOUT the emerging advantages of public service digitalisation.

The author also outlined some steps to be taken to digitise the public service, as well as strategies in public infrastructure.

On his motivation for writing the book, Edo said he wanted to properly position government policies to alleviate the growing poverty in the country.

“By re-invigorating Nigerian public service, the resultant effect should rub off positively on the populace,” he said.

Some professionals, including a development politician, Esema Aguse, have endorsed the book.

He said: “Edo doesn’t only make a case for the need for digitisation in Nigeria’s public service with the goals of efficiency in system and people, but also goes through a wide range of comprehensive and associated issues.

“The implementation would enhance wealth-creating opportunities and create values for national social and cultural goals,” he said.

He described the book as a perfectly timed resource that would encourage readers to join in moving into the future of a better and stronger Nigeria that would curb illiteracy, ignorance and disease.
