Ifu Ennada…the shining star

Ifu Ennada Ennada is a young Nigerian actress with a knack for acting. The computer science graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) says that she stumbled into acting.

“I saw an advert on Facebook for a new TV soap, the date for the audition was free on my calendar so I decided to attend and that’s how I got the role on Emerald. It was my very first audition. As an actress what makes me unique is the depth in my interpretation and my willingness to try daring roles.”

The multi talented lady who is also into music said that her journey into the music industry started with several music auditions, most notably was her participation on Star The Winner Is, a music competition. “I’ve been writing, recording and producing songs in the background for a while now, basically working on my craft. The thing is despite my huge love for music, it’s always scared me for a number of reasons, but I’ll be debuting with a single this year, God willing.”

Talking about her AMAA nomination, Ennada whose role models are Nigerian British actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Omotola Jolade Ekeinde, says she feels honoured to be nominated for Best Young/Promising Actor by the jury of African Movie Academy Award. “It’s a huge motivation because it means people notice my works.’

“Music, acting and modeling are close relatives, so doing all of them isn’t really a challenge especially because my music career is just picking up. Working with a good team has also helped me manage everything I do. The film industry is a great industry that has impacted many lives positively. It has changed my life. Although I feel its full potentials are not fully harnessed. Loads of revenue can be made from the film industry if there’s a proper structure and investment from both private and government sectors,” Ennada says.

I’m currently working on producing my first short film which will be developed into a TV series. It’s a unique story on the life of a rape victim and how she deals with her trauma and demons. I’m also working on growing my website, EnnadaLeads.Com into a renowned platform where lives are revitalized. There’s a lot more Ennada Leads will grow into. I’m also working on launching a fitness and wellness product that will allow people reach their wellness goals regardless of their financial status and time schedule. All these and more will come to pass, God willing, she informs.

In five years time, Ennada says she sees herself being a part of huge projects locally and internationally. “I see myself on Hollywood blockbusters and on top billboards, breaking records. I see myself producing my own films and TV shows and growing a successful media and entertainment company. I also see myself married to someone who will be my soul mate, I hope I meet him before 5 years time.”
