In a bid to develop the talents of young people, promote African cultural heritage as well as engaging the youths, Association of Movie Producers (AMP) is set rto organise its beauty pageant, Prince and Princess of Nollywood. The project targets young people between the ages 17-25, drawn from across the South-South (Uyo), South East (Enugu), South West (Ibadan), Central zone (Lagos) and the North (Abuja).

According to the Managing Director Heritage International Ltd and founder of the pageant, Mr. Tanko Ebute, the pageant is aimed at projecting the art, culture and tourism activities as well as showcase the potentials in all the state of the federation and Nigeria at large through entertainment.

He said, “We want to engage and create employment opportunities for our teaming youths across the country which is paramount looking at the unemployment situation in the country and this will be achieved through setting up of different offices across the country, thereby increasing the commercial activities of all the hosting zones and Nigeria at large”.

He also noted that a skills acquisition centre for entrepreneurship training for youth and women empowerment programmes would be established, as well as educational support programmes.

President of AMP Mr. Ifeanyi Azodo said the pageant is a welcome initiative as young talents would be engaged in film production, directing of plays, recording and waxing of musical shows, dancing, cinema, and video recording.

Each of the first place winners (male and female) of the pageant at the zonal level would take home a deep freezer and cash price of N100,000 while the second and third place winners get flat screen television sets, N50,000 and home theatre, with a N30,000 cash price respectively.

However, each winner at the grand finale will get a Toyota Corolla saloon car, a N500,000 cash prize, with a year acting contact, the second and third place winners get deep freezers and N300,000 and flat screen TV with N200,000 cash rewards, respectively.
