Access Bank opens second digital branch, commits to service delivery

Access Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to the delivery of quality and sustainable services to its teeming customers across the world.

With its transformation from a local bank in Nigeria to become one of the top three financial institution in the country, the bank acclaimed that it has built strong international presence within and outside the country.

The Managing Director, Access Bank Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, disclosed this at unveiling ceremony of its second digital branch in Epe area of Lagos State.

Wigwe said in a relatively short time, the bank has transformed from being the little known local bank in Nigeria to become one of the top three financial institution in the country also known as the world most respected African bank.

We have built strong international presence within and outside the country with branches in China, India, Dubai, London and other places, which shows what indigenous entrepreneurship has brought to Nigeria.

He said the branch is an evidence of its strength and commitment to expand the number of communities the financial institution have been able to serve, looking forward to serving the people of Epe.

Wigwe noted that the branch would play critical part in orchestrating economic development within this community.

According to him, the ceremony marks the second opening of its digital branch, stating that the bank would promote world class banking in Epe Community, adding that the branch would open new business frontiers in the area.

His words: “The strength of any society ultimately depends on the progress of its individual parts. One of those critical parts is financial services. Without capital, financial services there can be very little economic development whether for a trade or small scale enterprises or the operation of large-scale corporation. Economic prosperity is always a journey, which a business takes with a trusted platform. It is a journey that a bank takes with their customers.”

He pledged the continued support of the bank to Epe and Lagos, inviting citizens to enjoy the facilities of the financial institution.

He assured that customers would receive hospitality across its branches and the service excellent its known for.

In his remarks, Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, expressed delight to the bank for talking a bold step to key into the emerging and ensured prosperity of the State.

Ambode said the branch is strategically positioned to be part of urban regeneration of the community with the new standard for architecture in the State.

“We anticipate that this structure would be the beginning of main ultra-modern enterprises to be located in the community. Access bank has set the bar which is a challenge to other businesses and corporate bodies to come to the eastern part of the State as one of the new emerging economy,” he said.

He said the branch would stimulate socio economic activities of the town and raise certain standards. We anticipate that jobs would be created directly and indirectly for the people of the community.

“On our part as a State, we would continue to put in place critical social infrastructure needed to support the economic growth and prosperity which will be beneficial.  We remain committed to make the lives of our people better as well as improve the ease of doing business in the state,” Ambode said.
