IN an attempt to ensure that Information and Communications Technology is harnessed to the advantage of the country, a leading teaching solution developer, Robotel Inc. has unveiled a smartclass+ solution in a deal with Topteck Nigeria Limited, which is intended to aid classroom management in the country.

Speaking in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer Topteck Nigeria Limited Olu Babatunde, said that the application would impart the Nigerian education sector and bridged the gap between Nigerian schools and digital classroom management systems.

Babatunde said that using new technologies would play key roles in research, imparting knowledge and transformation of the Nigeria ailing education sector.

He bemoaned that educational institutions in Nigeria and West Africa have paid little attention in harnessing the potentials of the Internet and new technologies to uplift learning, teaching and research.

Babatunde disclosed that the partnership was an exciting milestone for his company. According to him, the increased broadband access in West Africa, especially Nigeria, has paved way for Robotel to birth innovative products in the region.

“Today, Topteck Nigeria has installed Language Laboratories in Adeleke university Ede, Osun State, which is the pioneer Robotel installed Laboratory in Nigeria with 10 +1 workstations; Babcock university, with 30 +1 workstations. We recently delivered the Redeemer’s University Language Laboratory, also 30 + 1 workstations,” he disclosed.

Executive Director Robotel Inc., Yanick Demers, said that the products have been designed putting into consideration factors that may hinder the effective use of the applications in the country, adding that the feat was a welcome development to his organisation and described the opportunity as an honour.
