The Group Managing Director of Flour Mills Nigeria (FMN) Plc, Paul Miyonmide Gbededo has disclosed that 80 per cent of the company’s business is being driven by its key distributors, affirming their contributions to the growth and performance of the company.

Gbededo, who made this known at the 2017/18 FMN customers’ forum and awards night in Lagos recently said that the stakeholders’ contribution to FMN distribution value-chains cannot be quantified in all ramifications.

He explained that the customers and distributors have distinguished themselves in the distribution of the company’s food products range nationwide by making sure that its products are a house hold name in Nigeria.

The GMD, in a media chat with journalists via the Head of Sales, Business-to-Business (B2B) of the company, Paul Udochi, said: “We are a major player in the food sector and agro-allied section in the country with a broad product portfolio and a robust pan-Nigerian distribution network where we have grown into a truly diversified food and agro-allied group.

But the key distributors have continued to drive our business significantly in the country.

“At FMN, we have been able to identify the fact that our key distributors are actually our major drivers in this business. 80 per cent of our business is actually driven by our key distributors.

So they matter so much to us, and it is important to us to know who they are, where they are, what they do. Interestingly, we are number one in the market,” he added.

However, Udochi, explained that FMN has set aside about 17 medium-size trucks to be giving to about 17 customers in different category in order to support them in their logistics distribution network and enhance their business.

He said that the winners of the give-away vehicles have contributed immensely to the company’s revenue, adding that FMN is extremely grateful for their contribution in driving the growth and development of the group.

“This year is particularly unique because on like the other years, we are actually taking time to give special awards to top category of our customers because we are actually doing today’s awards for our customers that do what we called our typically Business To Business (B2B) products which is business that you use to produce other stuff and then, we have customers who do our Business To Customers (B2C), these are products you sell and then people buy and go to consume at home”, he added.
