Anchor Insurance Limited, has been awarded 2016 Retail Insurance Company of Year through her retail and innovative product to the general public.The award was won based on Anchor loss of Employment Insurance Scheme (AnchorLoEIS) at the 4th BusinessToday Insurance and Pension Awards 2016 held in Lagos.

The product is designed to cushion the effect an unexpected loss of and was approved by NAICOM to meet the yearning of insuring public for innovation to address contemporary challenges of working class in the event of job loss. This product guarantees a maximum 24-month salary payment after job loss.

Anchor Insurance, a vibrant Non-Life insurance underwriting firm has returned smiles in the faces of so many workers that have lost their jobs through monthly payment of insured salaries.

The company has redeemed its claims payments to over 120 workers on the scheme, who had recently lost their jobs through no fault of theirs and due the biting economic recession, which has led to downsizing in many companies across Nigeria.

Receiving the awards on behalf of the company, the General Manager, Retail and Micro-insurance, Uzoma Ofurum, thanked the organisers of the awards for the recognition of the retail values of AnchorLoEIS. He promised that with this award, the company has been spurred to develop more tailored-make and unique insurance products that will meet the yearnings and needs of the insuring public like AnchorLoEIS.

“We are delighted to be recognised with the development of this rare insurance product. This award is a testimony to this fact and now encouraged not rest on our oars but challenged to come up with more unique and acceptable insurance products,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the company’s Managing Director, Mayowa Adeduro, thanked the organiser of the award, and urged many workers who are still seating on the fence in signing up to the scheme to stop procrastinating and insure themselves with AnchorLoEIS. This is so as to have a guaranteed access to their employment income in the event of a job loss.

He also congratulated the entire Management and staff of the company on this award, saying it is a pointer to greater achievements on the way.Similarly, the Head, Brand and Corporate Communications of the company, Jamiu Osoba, equally advised the working class to buy into the lifeline that AnchorLoEIS offers its beneficiaries as evidenced by those who are being paid their monthly income after a job loss as if they are still in active employment.
