NAICOM approves MD/CEO for FIN Insurance

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), the apex regulatory authority in Nigeria’s insurance market, has confirmed the appointment of Polycarp Osee Didam as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FIN Insurance Company Limited.

The confirmation was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of FIN Insurance Company Limited and signed by Mr. Pius Agboola, Director (Authorization and Policy) on behalf of the Commissioner for Insurance.

Didam is an accomplished insurance professional with over 28 years of experience in the sector. He started his professional career in 1988 at Commercial Insurance Brokers in Kano/Kaduna. From 1991 – 1993 he was Manager (North East Area Office), Afribank Insurance Brokers Company. From 1993 – 1996, Didam was the Regional Director North (Abuja) of Industrial & General Insurance Co. Ltd (IGI).

He joined Mansard Insurance Plc (formerly Guaranty Trust Assurance Plc) in 2005 as Senior Manager/Regional Manager and rose to the position of Assistant General Manager – Public Sector/Corporate business North in 2009. He became the MD/CEO of Guinea Insurance Plc in 2013 a position he held until this appointment.

With his wealth of knowledge in Insurance, Didam is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the management of FIN Insurance under the guidance of the board in the pursuit of FIN’s growth ambitions.

Polycarp Osee Didam is a member of Nigeria Institute of Management, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and a 2010 graduate of Lagos Business School – Advance Management Programme (AMP 22).

FIN Insurance Company Limited is a member of Cornerstone Insurance Group incorporated on 24th April, 1981 as a limited liability company, registered as a licensed insurer in 1982, and commenced business on the 1st January, 1983.
