NAICOM redeploys head of directorates, Others

In a move aimed at repositioning the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) to handle the insurance industry for better regulations, the Commission has reorganised its heads of Directorates and Departments.

In a move aimed at repositioning the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) to handle the insurance industry for better regulations, the Commission has reorganised its heads of Directorates and Departments.

The Head of Corporate Affairs, NAICOM, Rasaaq Salami, who revealed this to the Guardian over the weekend in a statement duely signed pointed out that the redeployment takes immediate effect.

While NAICOM had stated in October 2016 that the redeployment was part of an ongoing exercise aimed at improving efficiency of the commission’s workforce for effective insurance industry supervision, the new development is also part of efforts to reposition the Commission for better service delivery..

Salami, informed that a total of 23 other staff in the rank of Assistant Director and below have also been redeployed Olufemi Oba, who was hitherto the Director in charge of the Supervision Directorate, moves to the Finance & Accounts Directorate.
 Barineka Thompson, who was in charge of Inspectorate is now the Director in charge of Supervision Directorate.


Others are: Pius Agboola, who until date was the Director Authorisation. and Policy, moves to the Inspectorate Directorate to replace the erstwhile Director, Barineka Thompson.
In the same vein, Leonard Akah, who was the Head, Corporate. Governance department, has also been redeployed to oversee the. Authorisation. and Policy Directorate as acting Director.


Ahmad Adamu, who was formerly the Head, Enforcement and Compliance department, is now the Head, Complaint Bureau.
 Monday Faruna Adaji, who was until now the Head, Inspectorate Lagos Office, has been redeployed as the Head, Internal Audit.
Similarly, Kamal Barde, who was formerly the Head, Internal Audit is now Assistant Director, Supervision.


The new directors and the other employees, who were redeployed, were enjoined to remain focused and dedicated to the mandate of the commission as they settled in their new roles.
