Katsina airport to be commissioned soon
THE Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Saleh Dunoma has assured that the Katsina Airport would be commissioned very soon, adding that work at the terminal had been completed.
Speaking during an inspection tour of the facility, he noted that the authority is presently putting finishing touches for final takeover of the new terminal.
He highlighted the strategic importance and relevance of the airport as an alternate airport to other airports in the northern part of the country, stressing that the terminal would add substantial value to the revenue generation drive of the organization through the annual hajj operations.
The airport which was constructed in 1991 and operated as airstrip has now been upgraded to operate standard operations.
