IN further demonstration of its commitment to innovation and making life easier for Nigerians, RB Nigeria has launched Mortein Liquid Electric Device (LED).

Speaking at the product re-launch, which was held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital recently, the Marketing Director, RB West Africa, Mr. Silivrili Oguzhan, represented by the Brand Manager, Mortein, Ms. Iku Ejiroghene said the new Mortein LED works with electricity and lasts up to 30 nights with 100 per cent killing power on mosquitoes.

According to Oguzhan, the re-launch of Mortein LED was informed by the need to provide a more convenient way for Nigerians to stem the high prevalence of malaria in the country and Africa generally.

“Malaria is responsible for 60 per cent of out-patient visits to health facilities, 30 per cent of childhood deaths, 25 per cent of deaths in children under one year and 11 per cent of maternal deaths. This is unacceptable,” he stated.

While re-affirming RB’s commitment to the elimination of malaria in the country, he expressed optimism that effective collaboration and implementation of targeted initiatives would make this achievable.

“Malaria can be eliminated in Nigeria, which is the reason RB Nigeria is taking the lead. We have made strategic partnerships with the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), the lead agency of the Federal Ministry of Health on the elimination of malaria and other relevant government bodies.
