In what appears to be a competition between banks’ mobile App and the newly launched Remita App, a payment and collection platform by SystemSpecs, the company said it is all set for a revolutionised financial services delivery.

The Managing Director, SystemSpecs, John Obaro, at the launch of the solution in Lagos at the weekend, disclosed that collaboration is already being worked out with banks to deliver efficient services to customers.

He affirmed that banks have accepted and welcomed the new mobile app, while an agreement have been established with the banks and shareholders on how charge processing fee would be shared with people in the value chain.

“We actually partner with each bank with the level of security they are comfortable with. Some banks have different processes and we have aligned our system to work with that process,” he said.

The Product Manager, Tolu Oluyemi, who took the audience through the features of App, explained that it comprises multi-bank balances, pay gateway, funds transfer, standing orders, among others.

The functions, he said, help individuals access all their bank balances on one screen, conveniently make and receive payments across various bank accounts, settle various bills, request payment in style, easily manage their expenses, view their payslip and generally stay in control of their finances.

Impressed with the innovation, Chairman of SystemSpecs, Christopher Kolade, said despite the challenges and vices associated with it in other countries, Nigeria still breeds intellectuals that can drive the country to a successful path.

He said: “What SystemSpecs is doing today through the launch of Remita mobile app, that same spirit is present in many places in this country, and this is to remind all of us that there is a lot of goodness in this nation. If only we would acknowledge what we have and apply it for our benefit, there is no nation on earth that will catch up with us.

“The reason for that is this, we are starting from positions almost of disadvantage, much of our infrastructure are still trying to work. In spite of that, look at what the people are doing, look at what our human resource is looking and the innovation rolling out daily, just as we are witnessing here. The nation today is us.”

SystemSpec’s Executive Director, Products and Services, Adedeji Olowo, also added that the new mobile App will transform the payment experiences of users and Nigeria’s financial landscape for good, with power to make more financially intelligent decisions, which is now at customers’ fingertips.

Remita is the mobile version of award winning Remita payment solution, which has for more than a decade helped many individuals and organisations to make payments easily.
