HarvestPlus sets for 2017 nutritious food fair

Still basking in the euphoria of success recorded in the previous editions, all is now set for the 2017 Nutritious Food Fair (NFF), scheduled for November 28 to 30, at Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, Enugu State.

Still basking in the euphoria of success recorded in the previous editions, all is now set for the 2017 Nutritious Food Fair (NFF), scheduled for November 28 to 30, at Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, Enugu State.
 
HarvestPlus is partnering Enugu State SME Centre, Federal Ministries of Agriculture, Health, Education, Budget and Planning, to hold the fair, which promises to attract participantsfrom the public and private sectors.

Briefing the press in Lagos, HarvestPlus Nigeria Country Manager, Paul ilona, said over 10,000 participants are expected at this year’s edition and that there would be the Exhibition of nutritious food products, aside strengthen business skills and linkages, identifying new partners and communicating brands for enhanced marketing
 
He said: “In a country where about 50 per cent of the population live in rural areas, micronutrient malnutrition will lead to increased pressure on national health budgets and a weak labour force that cannot drive agricultural production to meet demands of the food and industrial sectors.”
