Ahmadiyya National Islamic conference holds in Lokoja

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat elders’ group (Majlis Ansarullah  Silsla Aliya Ahmadiyya) Nigeria, holds its 42nd annual National Islamic conference (Ijtema) in Lokoja, Kogi  State  from Friday 18th to Sunday, 20th August at the Al-Azhar International College, Lokoja.  The theme of the gathering is Mankind and The Search For Peace.

The three-day event will feature free medical camp, courtesy visits on the Governor of Kogi state, the Royal Highness of Ebira Land, Chief Imam of Lokoja, the orphanage homes, Commissioner of Police and the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN among others.

Other programmes lined up for the gathering according to National Publicity and Media Relations Secretary of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria, Dr. Qasim Akinreti, will include special prayers for Nigeria, Quranic competitions, quiz, sports, debates on topical issues on Islam.

Special lecture on Corruption: An Impediment to Economic and Spiritual Progress will be delivered by Barrister Uthman Robiu. Theme lectures are Mankind and the Search for Peace – Dr Abdul Lateef Owoade of the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin; Home: Veritable Source of Achieving Communal Peace by Dr. Sa’eed Timehin of the Lagos State University, Ojo.

The Amir Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria, Dr. Mashuud Fasola will preside over the occasion. A communiqué is expected at the end of the three day conference.
