Ahmadiyya tasks leaders on righteous deeds

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria has enjoined the political leaders to turn back to Almighty Allah in their national course and ensure equity and fairness in their dealings and quest for growth and development.

The National Amir of the Ahmadiyya, Mashood Fashola, who made this call during a post eid-el-kabir get-together with Muslim Media Practitioners in Lagos, said the recent economic recession ravaging the nation may be as a result of corruption and unholy behaviours of the leaders.

Besides, he enjoined the Nigerian populace to also desist from the corrupt tendencies and tow the righteous path.

Fashola said the populace should strictly monitor the political leaders and berate their evil acts, adding that the repercussion may fall back on the masses, if not cautioned.

The Islamic scholar however, urged the Federal Government to prioritise its economic diversification agenda, pointing out agriculture as the best alternative to the oil wealth that the nation has paraded in the past.

He said the government would further need to support and equip the farmers with modern technology equipment and financial base.

Fashola also urges the media to be courageous to say the truth because they are the voice of the media.

As part of the programmes of 100 years celebration of the organization in Nigeria he said Ahmadiyya has planted trees at various places and visited inmate at Ikoyi prison.

He said Ahmadiyah is promoting justice for humanity, saying: “You must be good to everybody, not only Muslims. There are four fundamentals freedom you must portray to be a good Muslim. Freedom conscience, ensure justice, ensure everybody get basic amenities of life, and ensure peace between two people fighting”
