Al-Jameel Nigeria has urged Nigerian leaders in all ramification to emulate the exemplary character of the holy prophet Muhammed in the quest to achieve a better society.

Al-Jameel Arabic and Islamic Research Centre in conjunction with Al-Jameel Islamic Society of Nigeria held its yearly Maolid Nabiyy celebration in Lagos recently, eulogizing the role of the noble prophet in bringing sanity to the world.

The Guest Lecturer and the Chief Missioner, Nuru-N-Najat Islamic Foundation, Ustadh Qamarudeen Ibrahim (Sugar), said it was high time Nigerian leaders emulated the good conduct of the noble prophet and formulate good policies that would promote peace and tranquility in the country.

Speaking on the theme: “Prophet Mohammed (SAW) a true role model”, Ibrahim, said Muslims and non-Muslims in the country should exhibit good conduct and tolerate each other with love.

Given reference to the prophet’s way of converting Idol worshipers to Islam, he said Muslims should also propagate the religion with good conduct and shun all unethical conduct that is forbidden by Allah.

Founder and Proprietor, Al-Jameel Nigeria, Fadeelat Shaykh Abdullahi Adeniyi Arowolo, said Prophet Muhammad was an icon who deserved celebration, adding that the celebration was done in a good manner to showcase the teachings and exemplary character of the holy prophet.

He said Almighty Allah described prophet Muhammad as favour to the mankind and He says further in the Quran (10:58): “Say: In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy: therein let them rejoice. It is better than what they hoard.”

Arowolo said reason behind the celebration of Prophet Muhammad is the love Almighty Allah have for Prophet Muhammad and He enjoined all the believers to do so and pronounced it clearly in the holy Quran (3:31) which says: “Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful”.

“For these reasons we decided to celebrate Prophet Muhammad as Almighty Allah commands us to do so,” he said.

Allah says: (33:56) “Surely Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation.” Prophet Muhammad worth to be celebrate in all ramifications.
