News consumers online can now heave a sigh of relief as Bounce News App was formally launched with a personalised service, which gives consumers news that appeals personally to them. Dedicated to delivering inspiring and relevant stories tailored to empower Nigerians and give everyone a voice, Bounce News aims to inform, proffer practical solutions to socio-economic challenges.

The Editor, Bounce News, Ehizojie Okharedia, explained that by studying search patterns and activities on social media to know the kind of stories that interest its readers, Bounce News is able to make recommendations while transforming basic information into applied intelligence.

On its target audience, the editor said they are mostly housewives, students, job-seekers and so on, as the app allows users receive news items that help them make informed decisions about their personal lives, careers or businesses.

“We use simple conversational language to communicate, and the platform also gives readers the opportunity to interact and share ideas because we value team work,” Okharedia said. “We do not report, but we tell stories with elements of creativity.”

General Manager, Bounce News, Goodluck Ikporo, said, “The App analyses user activity on the App to find out what kind of stories they read or skip, and any action taken around stories (like using the thumbs up or thumbs down). Each of these actions teaches Bounce a little bit about users’ interests and over time, it will get pretty good at predicting which stories you love.”

Ikporo was optimistic as he said the App was “already popular among Nigerians of various demographics, offering a range of exciting news items that cut across – politics, entertainment, business, sports, fashion, education, tech and law and crime.”

Unlike regular news Apps, the GM added that Bounce News significantly improves the experience of consuming news on the Internet as it is designed to function optimally on slower networks or low data, noting, “You can save stories and read offline. Bounce News brings the world to you and gives you that edge you need to share your unique experience with the rest of the world.”

Also, Head of Marketing, Modupe Ogunyemi, said the App gives readers an edge, saying, “We are data-driven and we take consumers’ feedback very seriously.”
