Chi Farms Limited is celebrating 10 years of business relationship with Aviagen, owners of the popular ‘Arbor Acres’ broiler brand.

The partnership, according to the company’s executive director, Martin Middernacht, has made Chi Farms a leading grandparent integrator and distributor of quality day-old chicks in Nigeria.

He said: “We are proud that we manage to produce day old chicks in Nigeria that have the same quality as you would buy abroad. Our investments in high- tech equipment and continuous training of our staff paid-off.”

According to the General Manager, Dr Tunji Olaitan: “as of today, Chi Farms Ltd, has the capacity to supply all of Nigeria’s broiler breeder day-old chicks, and has made the country independent from imports in this category.

“Having received the first ‘Arbor Acres’ Broiler Grand Parents from AVIAGEN just over 10 years ago, the AA brand has grown to become the most widely accepted and the number one choice of broiler farmers and integrators in Nigeria today,” he added.

Olaitan further explained that both Chi Farms and AVIAGEN partnered to promote the growth of local poultry industry in Nigeria through supplies of top quality genetics, promotion of best practices and technical support services. He added that both firms have agreed to further grow the grandparent stock capacities as part of its commitment to growing the poultry industry and ensuring full domestic supply in Nigeria.
