Students of Caleb International School (CIS), Magodo, Lagos have visited The Guardian to get a hands-on view of newspaper production and distribution. The 37 students, who visited The Guardian corporate head-office, Oshodi-Apapa expressway alongside the head of elementary section and two of their teachers, were shown around the company premises and taught the different stages and processes involved in newspaper production and the evolvement of media and latest way of gathering news

The head of Elementary section of the school said, “We bring the children to The Guardian so they could have access to where news is gathered and disseminated. I am happy for this and the kids are happy as well by what they learnt; we take the children outside the learning environment regularly. Going out to learn new things has expanded their sense of reasoning, having to learn outside the classroom.

A pupil of the school, Faith Prosper, who was asked about what she expects from the government and parents as children’s day approach, said, “I want the government to provide gift for the children and prizes for competitions and our parent should buy us things and celebrate us… I’ve learnt how journalists gather news and how it’s being printed before it goes to where we live
