College matriculates over 805 students, urges violence-free session

Provost of Federal College of Agriculture, Ebonyi State, Prof. Mrs. Justina Mgbada, last weekend warned the newly matriculated students to shun evil vices like cultism, drug abuse, prostitution, exam malpractice and immoral activities, stressing that these vices could mar their sojourn in the institution.

Mgbada congratulated the matriculating students for being among the lucky few who scaled through the various selection processes and urged them to work hard. She noted that available statistics show that the institution had continued to receive a large number of applications for admission on a yearly basis due to its academic strides.

Her words, “We are urging you all to obey the rules and regulations of the institutions as the institution’s authority has zero tolerance for any nefarious act and may apply sanctions against offenders. I encourage you all to be decent and shun evil vices like cultism, drug abuse, prostitution, exam malpractices and immoral activities that may mar your sojourn in this institution and any students found in any of these acts will be expelled and also handed over to the police”.

She further advised the students to make out time to engage in sports and scholarly lectures to enhance their academic performance. She enumerated some achievements the institution has recorded within her short time as Provost which include infrastructural development, expansion of college clinic and others. She promised an enabling environment that would promote conducive academic learning.

Mgbada urged the students to make brilliant use of the facilities in the institution for their academic success, and reminded them that their primary aim of being in the institution is to acquire knowledge.

She thanked the staff and the students for the support they have given to her administration since she assumed office, saying that being the Provost of the institution is another experience in life. The college matriculated 805 students in both National Diploma and Higher National Diploma.
