Dominican varsity holds fundraising

As part of efforts to commence infrastructural development of the institution, the Dominican University, Ibadan (DUI) is set to hold a fund-raising dinner.The event, put together by the fund-raising committee of the institution’s Board of Trustees (BOT) is to raise the sum of N1 billion for the commencement of the first phase of the university’s permanent site.

Projects under the first phase include administrative building, hostel blocks, cafeteria, faculty building, and auditorium among others., 2018 at the Colonades The Dominican University Ibadan is an institution established in 2016 by the Catholic Church to make quality education available at affordable cost.

Speaking on the need to support the initiative, chairman of the fund-raising committee, Dr. ABC Orjiako called on well-meaning Nigerians, Catholic faithful and friends of the Dominicans to support the laudable project that will see the institution achieve its dream of building a university that can compete globally.

Some of the dignitaries expected at the event billed for Thursday, May 17 at the Colonnade hotel are Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi who is the Pro-Chancellor of the university.
