The Federal Government has entered into partnership with the Vatican in the area of science development in Africa. To this determination, both countries have concluded agreement in the establishment of a multi million naira International Science Centre in Ofekata Orodo, Mbaitoli Local Council of Imo State, known as Assumpta Science Centre, Ofekata – Orodo.

Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, made this disclosure yesterday during his facility visit to the just completed building, disclosing that the commissioning would take place soon.

According to him, the institution will admit students from other parts of the world that will be taught Chemistry, with complementary subject areas in Biology, Physics and Mathematics, noting that a well-constituted board would be in place to set out the standards of admission of the students.

The minister added that there are plans to replicate the project in the other geo – political zones in the country.
