Firm trains educators on skills to handle students with special needs

As part of efforts to improve special educational needs and disabilities in the country, Axiom Learning Solutions Limited, an education and human capital development company has partnered with the National Teachers Institute (NTI) to train hundreds of head teachers and junior secondary school principals across the country.

According to Project Manager, Olatunde Ajoke Omoware, the train the trainer workshop was an expose on relevant tools and skills required to promote inclusion for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SENDS).

The trainers were also equipped with materials to train other teachers at their respective schools.

And to ensure effective compliance by teachers, the firm carried out a monitoring and evaluation exercise and carefully selected the most competent trainer per geo political zone who would in turn train teachers in his school.

Six teachers across the geo political zones were selected and awarded for their effective delivery.

In the Southwest zone, Lilian Olusola won from Ogun State, Dako Sunday from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja won for Northcentral; Sunday Toki emerged from Gombe for Northeast, Lawan Yushau won from Kano State for Northwest; Enya Vivian Ude emerged from Ebonyi state as winner from Southeast and Igunbor Paul from Edo State was the winner for South South.
