NACOMYO urges Muslims to cooperate with leaders on Ramadan moon siting

The National Council Of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO) has implored Muslims in the country to cooperate with the National leadership during the commencement and termination of the forthcoming Ramadan fast.

The 1439 Ramadan fast will commence next week after declaration of the citing of the moon by the President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, His Eminence, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto.

This was contained in a communique issued by the Muslim youth apex body at the end of the Southern zone Dawah Retreat held at Igbona, Osogbo, Osun State, recently.The Retreat with the theme: “Our Education, Our Future”, had over 100 Muslim youth leaders from all the States in the Southern part of the country.

The council also said bemoaned the deplorable state of education in Nigeria vis-a-vi the Muslim Community, adding that there should be all inclusive, robust and quality approach to achieve an impactful education.

It also lamented the discriminatory attitude of the State and infringement on the rights of Muslims in public and private institutions, citing the denial of Miss Amasa Firdaus the right of being called to Nigerian Bar.It also appreciated the overwhelming patronage of JAIZ Bank by the Muslims, calling for continuous support of the Bank to enable it widens its scope.
