GEMS Communications Limited last week unveiled an iconic outdoor mega rock in the heart of Abuja. Strategically situated in the heart of the ever-busy Wuse 11, the marketing and communication service billboard, no doubt, introduced a fresh dimension to outdoor advertising in the country.

GEMSROCK, as it was tagged, was a new technology with a touch of art. Rather than the conventional metal, the billboard was sculpturally designed to stand the taste of time.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Managing Director, GEMS Communications Limited, Mr. Atilola Odudare, said the company’s vision to be the best display company within and outside the home, using the latest tools and technology in the world, has prompted the introduction of a device that counts traffic volume.

According to him, the latest technology also counts speed which can determine the peak periods of traffic to be used as data by clients to monitor the effectiveness of their return on investments on billboards.

“New technologies and ideas are opening up what is possible within outdoor advertising. GEMS is at the forefront of this change, making smart use of these technologies and realizing the potential of the medium.
