A broadcast academy has been established by Gregory University, Uturu, Abia State. It already has Orbit TV channel, which worldwide technology company and pioneer of digital migration, StarTimes, has granted approval and assigned it Channel No 45.

As a commitment to this collaboration, StarTimes’ Managing Director, Chief Jack Liu, who was awarded an honorary doctorate degree at the university’s maiden convocation last week, announced donations of Integrated Television, Projector TV and DTH packages.

Liu said that it is the great desire of StarTimes that Gregory University Orbit TV should be among the best TV channels under StarTimes platform with an anticipated nationwide coverage. He noted that the Orbit TV would project a better image as well as ensure optimal performance for the university through its programmes, including innovative ideas from students.

While describing his company as the best pay TV operators, Liu said that its achievements so far could be traced to localization of its staff strength and construction of transmitters at Aba, Umuahia and recently at NTA Okigwe DTT Centre, which will assist GUU to transmit its Orbit TV signal already approved by StarTimes on Channel No 45.
