Guinness Nigeria Plc has announced the creation of 60 new jobs, as one of its commitment to investing more in the future of Nigerian economy. This was revealed by the Managing Director, Guinness Nigeria, Mr. Peter Ndegwu, during the media tour and launch of a PET bottle new format for its adult premium non-alcoholic drinks, Malta Guinness classic, Dubic Malt and Origin Zero, which will be available in 33cl.

“Our consumers are always at the heart of what we do and the launch of these PET bottles is no exception. We recognise that our consumers are always on the move and so these portable PET bottles will provide a convenient means for them to enjoy their Malta Guinness, Dubic Malt and Orijin Zero on-the-go.”

Ndegwu also mentioned that the company has drafted a means to control the dangers the plastic bottles might pose to the environment, saying, “As responsible corporate citizens, we are also aware of the dangers used plastics pose to the environment. So, we have already put in place measures to ensure we protect the environment. We will be working with local artists to recycle used PET bottles into fascinating art works. This partnership with local artists is just one of our many initiatives to reduce our environmental impact as well as join the global movement to advance sustainable development.

“To buttress this, we recently signed MoU with Wecyclers, a for-profit social enterprise that promotes environmental sustainability, socio-economic development and community health in support of our waste management agenda.”

The Marketing Manager, Adult Premium Non-Alcoholic Drinks (APNADs), Omotola Bamigbaiye, stated that “although the non-alcoholic drinks have been unveiled in new PET bottles, the great taste, nourishing vitamins of Malta Guinness, Dubic Malt and Orijin Zero will remain the same and the new PET bottles will be available to consumers in shops nationwide.”

Also in attendance at the launch were Corporate Relations Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Viola Graham-Douglas, Supply Chain Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Colman Hanna, Finance and Strategy Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Stanley Njoroge, and Human Resource Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Bola Olajomi-Otubu.
