To Lure The Rich To Agriculture

In the bid to ensure that more people appreciate and invest in agriculture, Beyond Buildings Investment limited, has come up with its first commercial farm housing estate, located at the top of a hill in the Epe area of Lagos.

According to the Managing Director, Mr. Lanre Howells, the farm estate, about 100 hectares of land (about 50 farms), has 30 housing units, ranging from luxury, double luxury to standard rooms, that will provide comfort for farm owners. It has other facilities like relaxation spots, lawn tennis court, basketball court and swimming pool. This, according to Howells, makes the farmhouses feel like a home away from home.

“It is important for government to know that achieving maximum result in agriculture will require provision of all necessary equipment for farming and that is the gap we are filling. We want to ensure that more small-scale farmers, which cannot feed the nation, go into mehanised farming to increase their yield, which is the only visible way of growing the economy today.”

Howells further noted that the scheme, which is in line with national orientation programme, will encourage the super rich farm owners, who would not visit their farms because it doesn’t have the kind of comfort they require, to have the opportunity to monitor their farms from the comfort of their homes.
