Muslim parents and guardians have been urged to actively play their parental role in the moral, religious and educational upbringing of their children.

The founder of Islamic Mission Organsation International, Alhaji Ayo Adeyemi, who made this call during the celebration of one-year Founder’s Day of the organisation in Lagos, said this would prepare the young Muslims for daily challenges and spiritual upliftment.

According to Adeyemi, IMO is a religious organisation that promote the tenets of Islam and educate the masses about the teachings of Islam as enshrined in the holy Quran.

He explained that the Islamic Mission Nursery and Primary School was founded last year January and the school was established to teach Islam based on the teachings of the holy prophet for Muslims to seek for knowledge from cradle to grave.

“The children should be groomed when they are young so that they will be able to pray and handle their commitments in an Islamic way” he said.

Adeyemi added: “In many schools you will observe that character is missing, morality has taken flight. No more religious education. When we were young most of us attended missionary school until the abolition of mission schools. Today, our children have been morally bankrupt and we decided we should not just fold our hands and become handicapped, let us also participate in building the education system that is one of the reason why Islamic Mission Nursery and Primary School was established not for profit making,”

The Chairperson of the School, Alhaja Ganiyat Awonaike, said the school which was founded January 2016, is distinct from other school and unique because we want our fellow Muslims to have in depth knowledge of Islam.

She commended the founder of the organisation, Alhaji Adeyemi whose dream was achieved in his lifetime.
