Imo varsity authorities promote 54 to professors, Readers
After rigorous academic screening exercises the school authorities of Imo State University, Owerri, have elevated 32 senior lecturers to Readers and 22 Readers to Professors.
Confirming this in Owerri, the Institution’s Public Relations Officer, Nze Ralph Obi-Njoku, told The Guardian that the promotions were done in accordance to the university rules and regulations.
He said: “The academic exercise was done on merit.”
The university, which was created by the enabling laws in 1991, has many academic programmes and has produced many notable Nigerians in various fields.
