Gwarinpa, a high brew District in Abuja, rated as the biggest housing estate in West Africa, was agog as a campaign for natural products for human health improvement came to town.

The event was the opening of Nature’s Emporium stores in Gwarinpa and the introduction its 100 per cent organic dietary supplements with zero additives to residents.

On ground to add their voices to the need for health living were renowned Nigerian Professor of Pharmacognosy, Maurice Iwu, and entertainment maestro, Charles Oputa (also known as Charley Boy).

Charley Boy, who officially cut the tapes, heralding the opening of Nature’s Emporium store in Gwarinpa, was full of encomiums for Prof Iwu and his team for the promotion of human health and well being.

He told a cheering crowd of residents who came out to witness the ceremony how he doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol and stayed youthful by staying with natural products.

He said: “It is a thrill for me that today we are having indigenous herbs which can also make you look as young and as boyish as Charley Boy, as long as you stay focused on doing the right and positive thing. I am very glad to be associated with this and to be the one to open this Emporium. Everybody in Africa must hear this message.

“If you want to live a longer life, apart from your lifestyle, you also need to invest in some of these. My say health is wealth. I urge us to live a clear and health life.”

Promoter of the products, Prof Maurice Iwu, stressed that Intercedd Health Products Limited operates as a health and wellness company with specialization in high quality herbal and dietary supplementary products.

He explained: “We found out that it is necessary to open an outlet here in Gwarinpa. We did this because Gwarinpa is a high-density community area. We want people to have access to the best of products that research can produce; products that has been certified to be safe and efficacious and can also help to promote health.

“This is a branch of our Bioresources Development Group. Nature’s Emporium is one of the constituent companies that make up the Group which I head.”

He explained that the products were researched and produced in Nigeria from natural ingredients.

His words: “They are things that are produced here in Nigeria. It has to be those that are essentially local, indigenous and organic. There are no pesticides in their preparations, no fertilizers added and no artificial fertilizers added. Everything is natural.”

Director of Intercedd Health Products, Mrs. Ijeoma Nwafor, stressed the need for people to plan to be health instead of waiting to be ill.

She said: “This shop is Nature’s Emporium and is being opened in Gwarinpa. The shop is to promote natural food, natural products and natural supplements. The idea is to keep people healthy and not just to wait until they are sick. We are interested in what you can do to keep your body healthy, to keep yourself healthy and so on.

“The shop embodies all of that, all natural. 90 per cent of what the shop carries is Nigerian made and indigenous to Nigeria and it’s for preventive health. We have Zobo leaves. We have teas from herbs and plant materials.”

She noted that the products were also available in pharmacies, other Nature’s Emporium Stores, Jumia and Konga.
