JUNIOR Chamber International (JCI), Victoria Island chapter, Lagos has inducted new members and patrons in a bid to strengthen the club and execute her mission.

Speaking at the induction ceremony held at Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos, the President, Oluwatoyin Ajani, said the newly inducted members were young professionals doing well in different fields.

“It is good to start taking responsibilities when we are young and it would be better not to be a member than not being active. Before I associate myself with anything in life I must be ready to impact and I expect that from all members too. JCI is a platform to benefit, but you must invest before you benefit,” he noted

For the patrons, he stated that there was always a level of mentorship for young people. According to Ajani, in Nigeria today, 18-40 years old still falls under young men.

“We are supposed to leverage on the experience of older people and stand on their shoulders so that we can also build our leadership profile. We have the intention to induct five patrons, but we are able to induct three.”

Among the people inducted as patrons were the Medical Director, Inland Hospital, Dr. Jide Akeredolu; president of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Remi Bello and Miss Juliana Ali of Train A Child Foundation
