In line with its reputation of being the top choice for both job seekers and employers in Nigeria, Jobberman Nigeria has concluded arrangements for the 3rd edition of the Jobberman HR Breakfast with a venue set in Lagos.

The event, which has been scheduled for November 24, 2016 at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, will focus on discussing topical issues plaguing the workplace with the aim of proffering viable solutions to them.

The Jobberman HR Breakfast is a gathering of top HR professionals and business CEOs and has enjoyed the endorsement of top brands and establishments across Africa’s most populous nation.

For the third edition, the Campaign Manager, Jobberman Nigeria, Busola Babatunde revealed that the theme says tons about the agenda of the event.

It should be recalled that the 2nd edition of the event was widely considered a teeming success given the turnout it enjoyed as well as the support it received from Nigeria’s corporate sector.

“The theme for the 3rd edition of the Jobberman HR Breakfast is ‘Building, Leading and sustaining Innovative Organisations: The African Perspective, Experiences and stories’ and we are targeting 200 professionals across several industries.”

When asked how HR innovations enable firms compete better, Juliet Oshagbemi, the Group Talent Acquisition Lead, Dangote Industries Limited, who will be speaking at the event, said:
“For companies to maintain their competitive edge, they must start from the future and work backwards by attracting and retaining the best talent to make new ideas happen.”

The second edition of the Jobberman HR Breakfast focused on the theme, ‘Identifying, Attracting and Retaining Talent in a Competitive Environment.’ The third edition, according to the organisers, will build on the success recorded in the previous edition.

For this edition, the Jobberman HR Breakfast is hinged on looking at African experiences, stories, perspective, how they have shaped companies and the potential they hold for organisations.

The event also presents an opportunity to network with leading HR Professionals, Practitioners and CEOs of small SMEs from all over Nigeria.

There have been conversations around trends that innovative companies will follow in 2017 and industry leaders have agreed that this is the best time to put such issues on the front burner.

The outgoing year witnessed organisations embracing more of technology in their recruitment exercise and will trigger more transformation.

Africans have always been known to have stories to tell and experiences to share. These stories will help organisations within the country understand the past as well as how best to prepare for the future.

The practice of HR has been widely consumerised, which explains why there is a prevalent use of social platforms in the process of recruitment. Same applies to engagement and development. Innovative companies are beginning to create a social experience for their employees.

The interesting side to this is that establishments in Africa are beginning to understand this and are tapping into it.

In her presentation for the 2nd edition of the Jobberman HR Breakfast, Bolanle Ibitola, Head, Human Resources, United Capital spoke on the fact that companies need to develop people progressively and effectively.

Organisations have been charged to cultivate a learning environment, use coaching, training, stretch jobs, job rotation and use job experiences to drive personal development.

Still on the subject of the issue of winning the war for talent, experts have noted that organisations that strive to win have learnt to leverage innovative learning methodologies such as games, simulations, reverse mentoring, e-coaching, peer-to-peer learning, and informal learning, to accelerate learning across their establishments.
