LASU hosts $1m Hult Prize competition

Again, Lagos State University (LASU) has been selected among several universities globally to host the world’s largest competition, Hult Prize, which rewards students who employ ideas to solve the world’s pressing challenge with $1m.

Again, Lagos State University (LASU) has been selected among several universities globally to host the world’s largest competition, Hult Prize, which rewards students who employ ideas to solve the world’s pressing challenge with $1m.

This was revealed at an interview with the campus director, Oscar Udebuana as well as the team of volunteers. Hult Prize is a not-for-profit organization that encourages ideas and buds entrepreneurs from several universities to solve a world challenge.

“Last year, LASU prides herself to be the only State University in sub-saharan Africa to host a successful on-campus competition.
“With the compounding efforts of her volunteers such as Soyemi Tolu, Ogomigo Ortega, Osundein Grace, amongst others we are set for an exciting year,” Udebuana said.

It was also learnt that the on-campus competition will be held this November in LASU, where team of applicants would go head-to-head for the most credible, feasible and scalable idea geared towards solving world’s issues.

“It is our belief that this year November, applicants for the competition, will not only stand a chance to win $1,000,000, but also gain mentorship opportunities, hands-on experience in strategic planning on entrepreneuship, among others,” he said.

The Hult Prize Campus director remarked: “The wicked we see in the world today are not because of the wicked ones, but because of the silence of good people.
